Meet The Founder

Ben Beckwith

Owner & Operator of Deck Restore+

The idea for Deck Restore+ began with a personal challenge. Ben’s family had a once-beautiful deck that turned green, slippery, and became little more than a walkway. Restoration quotes were vague, overpriced, and offered no real explanation of the process.

Determined to revive the deck, Ben researched the best techniques, tackled the job himself, and was amazed by the results. Soon, other homeowners began asking for the same help — not just for their decks, but for the tired hardwood floors inside their homes. Floors that had lost their shine, scarred by years of use, yet full of character and history.

Ben realized that the same principles applied: with the right process and products, old wood could be transformed instead of replaced. What began outside on a family deck grew into a mission to restore wood surfaces everywhere — inside and out.

From a small neighborhood service in Burlington in 2020, Deck Restore+ quickly grew. In 2021, the first employee was hired, and by 2022, the company earned recognition through the Halton Small Business Centre’s Summer Company program. In 2024, Deck Restore+ was again recognized by the St. Catharines Enterprise Centre’s Starter Company Plus Program — solidifying its place as Niagara’s trusted name in deck and hardwood floor restoration.

Restoring What Others Overlook

Ben has always had a hands-on approach to work. His background includes years of experience in physically demanding, detail-oriented jobs—skills that translated perfectly into the world of deck and fence restoration. But what sets him apart is his passion for problem-solving.

Restoring a deck isn’t just about making it look nice—it’s about choosing the right process, from chemical treatments to sanding techniques, to ensure a lasting finish. Ben has spent years refining the system that Deck Restore+ follows today, ensuring every customer gets the best possible results.

Beyond the technical side of the job, Ben genuinely enjoys meeting homeowners and discussing their projects. He’s the kind of person who stays a little longer after an estimate, chatting with clients and answering all their questions, making sure they feel confident about their decision.

Accountability, Transparency, and Real Results

Deck Restore+ was built on the idea that homeowners deserve a restoration service they can trust. Too many contractors cut corners, overcharge, or take on projects they know won’t last. That’s not how Ben and his team operate.

From the very first estimate, honesty comes first. If a deck or fence is too far gone, the recommendation is to replace it—no false promises, no wasted money. And once a project begins, every detail is handled with care. If unexpected challenges arise, they are addressed at no additional cost to the homeowner. The price quoted is the price paid.

A 6-Month Workmanship Warranty — The Longest in Ontario

Unlike many contractors who disappear once the job is done, Deck Restore+ stands behind its work. Every project comes with a 6-month workmanship warranty, the longest offered by any wood restoration company in Ontario.

On top of that, the company’s reputation is backed by glowing testimonials from homeowners who have seen their decks completely transformed. These reviews, along with the company’s continued recognition through business grants and programs, reinforce the trust customers can place in Deck Restore+.

A Story of Accountability

One of the biggest tests of Deck Restore+’s values came with a job that was severely underestimated. A project expected to take three days ended up taking two weeks due to unforeseen challenges.

The easy route would have been to renegotiate the price or cut corners to finish faster. But Ben and his team stood by their word. The homeowner was never charged a penny more than the original quote. The team returned again and again until the job was perfect—despite taking a financial loss. That’s the level of commitment customers can expect.

Expanding Across Niagara to Serve More Homeowners

Deck Restore+ is growing, expanding across the Niagara region to help even more homeowners protect and restore their outdoor spaces. With new crews being trained and an increasing number of satisfied customers, the goal remains the same: provide honest, high-quality deck and fence restoration that homeowners can trust.
